YCGrown is a non-profit, agricultural co-op dedicated to helping small and start-up farmers and ranchers in Yavapai County by working together. Small and start-up growers often struggle with the many demands of farming and ranching. Too often, we saw good growers and producers quitting the business because there just wasn’t enough time to do it all: raising the crops and livestock, marketing and selling, distribution and more. However, we believe that a strong, diverse agricultural base is important for our community. We feel that everyone, including our children, schools, environment and economy, benefits from nutritious, sustainably raised and locally grown food. Thus, YCGrown was born.

Our members pledge to use sustainable, water-conserving, chemical-free growing methods, and to deliver the very best food they can. We work together to develop the shares, and back each other up in case of crop failures due to weather or insects. This results in our shareholders getting a reliable harvest each week, even if one of the growers has sustained a loss. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts!

Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share program began in 2012 and was a great success for both shareholders and growers. We were able to introduce the broader community to the wonderful diversity of ag products grown and raised in Yavapai County, and provided new customers and outlets for the Co-op’s producers. This year, YCGrown will be managing the Prescott College CSA, with the first delivery on October 2, 2013. NEW: Cottonwood - Thursdays from 1-2pm
